A rainy day – a light comes down from the grey violet sky lighting up the tops of branches which are fringed with sparkling white raindrops – As these fall they make white streaks – the rain however in fine slanting streaks is [light] grey violet – The sky is lighter at horizon, + trees flat [dark] against sky –
