Berthas birthday. Cards for her from Sally & Mary also.
P.M. – She put the chicken in the oven, then we went for a drive. Overcast skies and raining, which brought out the colors to the best advantage. South to the Creek Rd below Armstrong - & then east & home than Colden & West Falls. A thoroughly enjoyable trip.
The birthday supper simple but delicious – the roast chicken, corn-on-the-cob (from Oregon) and Alligator pears with French dressing.
Then to the Richter’s for dessert.
The children greatly excited – in addition to presents from Mart & Hank they had bought something for each of the youngsters to give – Mart had baked a cake, & we brought ice-cream – In addition to the candles, she put a little wax jack-o’ lantern in the center of the cake.
A pleasant evening.
