Oct. 25 (Sat.)—
A clear mild day—(warmer in the night)
Early in the morning at dawn, a robin sang as in Spring, and later I heard the songs of several red-wings.
A.M. in studio making portfolio—
P.M. B & I to Chestnut Ridge Park—walk up ravine. How good it is to get back into the woods—each stich & stone, each sapling seemed full of significance. The dry weather has robbed the woods of much of its usual color—the leaves curled & dried, & bleached out. Pleasant walking over the stream bed. Very little water, but occasionally a tiny waterfall with a low timid voice.
On our return stop at Armour for ice-cream cones—the charming groups of trees & horses. [6:30 Toscanini Concert—all Beethoven—Cors. of the Horse Overture, 2 movements from Opera/35 & Seventh Symphony.
Evening B & I to Central Station to get Times & Newsweek. Nothing in neither one (by nothing, I mean nothing about my exhibit!)
