Oct. 23 (Mon.)
A day busy with various things, food-shopping, calling doctors and dentists for appointments –

Letter to Irma –
Evening to Kleinhans Music Hall to see “Hamlet” (Phoenix Production) – Beautifully presented - Simple stage-setting all in black, “modernistic” – Costumes beautiful - I never make up my mind about “Hamlet” – Is it just a melodrama? Albeit beautifully and powerfully written.
For me the only real sense of tragedy occurred during the “mad” scene of Ophelia’s – The last scene seems almost a travesty or catastrophe.
