A brisk brilliant sunny day – “perfect” autumn weather –
In spite of the beauty of the day, I spent it in humdrum task of getting ready to mount some paper – (It seems I never have exactly the right size paper mounted! Which really means that when one is unable to paint, he seizes upon any excuse to justify his not doing so.)
Exhausted at the end of the afternoon –
Evening – M. & A. with us to Hangerer’s for dinner. Later we were to go to Canisius College to see Mart’s exhibition – (Hank to go to the hospital to visit a friend who is dying of cancer) – a very pleasant meal.
Mart’s show in the new library at the college – Very handsome, and well hung; in various parts of the building. We meet the head Librarian, Mr. Sauer who showed us (with Mr. & Mrs. Letsman from Ebenezer who we met there) over the library. We had a pleasant chat.
Home – and got at the unpleasant task of preparing some paste for tomorrows mounting.
Evening music – Beethoven’s Sonata #15, and the horn concertos of Vivaldi -
