A cold wind blew in on me all night last night - fine.
A grey windy morning. A wonderful season. Amble thru (sic) Wade Park at 3:30. sketching and reveling in the colors. Meet Boy Scout leader searching for Sassafras. I lead him to spot where I discovered some last week. We talk of tree study and he told me of their camping out experiences last summer at Gate Mills.
A heavy grey sky. The northeast wind scatters drops of water now & then.
A model, whom we had in modelling last year, met me at the Studio, and seeming delighted to see me shook hands. It means alot to have them smile when they see you - I don’t know why unless they like a person more by instinct than reason. The present model Sam, when I asked him what he did evenings said he often took a walk or played cards and was anxious that I should understand that he did not play for money, only for fun.
