Sept. 3 – Thursday –
Troubled with “top-heaviness” all week but kept going –
In studio, making tracings of drawings I want to use as material for paintings –
Today was the day Bertha, Martha, + I were to go to Syracuse for the State Exposition – to attend the Governor’s Luncheon – but, had to give it up – (I felt I ought to go since they were honoring me with a special exhibition of my work.
Wonderful September weather – the goldenrod in Alberella’s backyard coming out in it’s full glory.
On Tuesday evening Clara said they had had to take Vic to the hospital – he was so bad – that he was almost in a coma. She said she now felt it would be best for him if he could be taken from this life.
We ate lunch in the summer-house today, “surrounded by September” –

Call last night from Sally – she is pretty miserable with the heat and weight of the unborn baby –
