Aug 3 – Tuesday-
Last night about 10:30 – I got up & went out the marigold bed, hoping to catch the night worms that have been defoliating them – Caught four more –
When I got back in bed, I heard the first tree-crickets.
Early A.M. Mart over [with] the children, (to have B. mark a dress for her.) Tommy came and gave me one of his bear-hugs – Had to go over an insect book with him and tell him all the names.
Out to the studio to get the drawings to show M. – Dark & ominous sky, heavy atmosphere. Hardly had I gotten to the studio, when torrents of rain come down.
P.M. – Worked up a drawing of a huge storm on Bullis Rd.
