Dream – of being in Cleveland, and planning to take the 8:00 A.M. train home to Salem. I had “ordered” my ticket and was on my way to the station. It was still dark, the streets almost deserted. High in the northwest shone the full moon. I thought how thrilling & romantic it was to be up & going somewhere in early morning moon-light (and still do!). I realized I was early, as it was only 6:00. When I got to the station I met St. Gaudens and three other men, and we decided to have breakfast together. Mine I had ordered beforehand and consisted of fried eggs & bacon. Theirs was an omelet, of chopped ham-but cut into small ovals, and served on huge platters. The waitress was provoked because I had previously ordered my meal, instead of from her. The scene changed swiftly and we were all seated in our porch swing at Salem talking. I awoke at this point.
