A dream – of being in the fields N.W. of Gardenville, early May. A stream has been dammed up, a little lake formed and the water backing up into the stream, widening it and spreading out over the lush grass. Dappled clouds in the sky, some of them skeleton outlines made with the sky showing through. Cattle wading in the shallow waters.
I turned and looked southward, a low hill in front of the village, the beautiful tangle of trees and vines, with sunlight filtering downward over them
