The Burchfield Penney Arts Center is presenting a double-decker block of music on its front yard Friday evening, as part of its monthly Second Friday series.
The music starts at 5:30 p.m. with long-time instrumental act Lazlo Hollyfeld. Featuring one of Buffalo's busiest musicians in Sonny Baker and the elusive electronic xylophone, the experimental groove rockers are the perfect way to kick off another busy Buffalo weekend.
Starting at dusk, the nearly unclassifiable Cages and ensemble of Wooden Cities will be providing the live score to Hollis Frampton's "Zorn's Lemma." The performance is part of the ongoing exhibit featuring the avant-garde artist that will run through early September.
The two groups are no strangers to performing together. This past winter, Wooden Cities sat in with Cages at the group's release show for its stunning LP "Vivipary" at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center.
The event is free. Further event details can be found here.
