A powerful windy day of clouds and sunshine
Start out sketching PM – get no farther than Three Trees Territory where I am held by the clouds – Scientists can never explain away the wonder of clouds — or anything in fact — As sun lowers a rainbow appears around it – dappled sky – Bobwhite sings up from a bristling weedy distance; songsparrow sings on bramble branch facing sun; grasshopper clicker,-
After supper again to Three Trees to see sunset – An October sunset – orange edged slate blue clouds – a meadowlark’s silvery note up from the meadow coloring the air –
I sometimes wonder if the outer covering of a tree were removed, if the inside would show a record of the wonderful colors the sun, moon, & seasons had left there –
