A dream –Out in the woods (Posts woods or a similar place to the N.E.) with Arthur & Catherine – coming home, we came upon a bed of dwarf iris in a field which I thought belonged to Luke’s. They were in full bloom. I thought we might ask Luke if we might pick some.
We came to a sugar camp which showed signs of recent activity – the heat from the fire had warmed a bank just behind the building enough to cause great quantities of hepaticas to come out prematurely. Through great gaps in the walls of the shed, (which were black and charred) we could see the delicate flowers gleaming.
