A.M. Cleaned out studio thoroughly and scrubbed the floor. Studying a few of the spring’s water-colors. At first they seemed strange to me, but finally the one of the “keyhole” view from the woods seemed right.
M. brought the baby down + left it, so that she go to city-line shopping.
P.M. Long letter to M.A [Mary Alice].
Evening - we had planned to go to a movie, but when Hank called up + asked if we were doing anything for the evening, hadn’t the heart to say no – They wanted us to keep the baby while they went to a movie, Hank fooled me completely by talking to me in a strange voice. –
Finished letter to Evie, Cathie in at 10:00 (Her first days work at Rosticceria – she said it was a rather nice place).
Then Mart + Hank a little later. We were glad to baby-sit for them. After all, we could go any night to a movie.
