Visit from K. King (who is on her way to Maine for a sketching trip)-
To the luncheon meeting of the art committee of the Albright Gallery – all present, including the new director, Gordon Smith – I always come away from these meetings frustrated and piqued at myself for not saying what I think – It seems to me futile to pay out good money for metallic gadgets masquerading as sculpture – and yet with the whole committee solidly in favor of such stuff, I feel I would only make myself ridiculous and old-fogy-ish (in their eyes) – So I am non-committal and none asks my opinion anyway.
I have about decided that this is my last meeting.
