May 16 – Friday
Clear, cold morning – I felt I ought to go out & do the dog–wood picture – but I did not really want to go – and as it was so cold and windy I abandoned the idea.
(May 11 – A.M. visit from Raleigh Parkin, (who had been urged by Henry Moe & Gordon Washburn to call on me) and Mrs. ? a friend of his, who was “chauffeuring” him on his visit. Both charming people. He is from Montreal. His time was very limited, but even in our short visit, it was evident I think, that we “talked” the same language. A very brief visit on the studio – I showed a few things. He fell in love with my 1951 – “Song of the Marshes” which pleased me.)
(They pronounced his first name “RALLY”)
