I awoke about 7:00, and was annoyed to see the air full of flying snowflakes! I was seized with an urge to do a painting of the “Last snow of the season” as a companion piece to last fall’s “First Snow”— I contrived a rude sort of shelter from the sleet & wind, and set up my easel on the studio porch. All afternoon. My result was like a caprice, and appropriately enough, was less grim than last Fall’s sketch — Very cold & disagreeable.—
