With our special Mother’s day “decorations” (corsage of red rose buds and white carnations for Bertha and a white carnation for me) we set out for church – a fine sunny morning –
After church to West Valley Tea-room for dinner – the country lovely – as if a pale-yellow veil had been thrown over the landscape, and some of the pink-brown of bared trees shown through in places.
Evening Sally called up, needlessly apologetic for not sending any remembrances to Bertha (Laurel had had tonsillitis all week) – She has a new job, better in every way than the one she lost through coming to my shows –
