May 9 – Sunday –
A mild, sunny day –
P.M. all of us to Chestnut Ridge Park except Sally. The youngsters went exploring by themselves – B & I followed more slowly – stopping often to rest — I to sketch etc. Once we sat on a log by the noisy little stream; and I fell to talking about my lost 1919 sketches, describing them to B. & making drawings – from there I went on to the never realized “all day sketches” of 1915 – The warm sun beating down on us – it was a golden hour.
