The season seems like the end of May, tho we have had several snows since the leaves came out – (cold + raining today, and at late afternoon a few flakes of snow) – with the apple trees in bloom, it seems odd.
A dream this morning – Catherine + I out in winds, finding some hepaticas, dark blue-violet ones, in their first rich cup-like formation. I awoke, and was [filled] with aching regret for the whole lost early spring of this year; all at once a song sparrow song outside, and my mood changed as suddenly – I look forward to next spring instead of looking back at this spring with rain regrets – next Spring! What a glorious phrase! Next Spring I will do the Peterbirds, the Redbirds etc –
