Mar. 28 – April 21 –
Days of confused activities + the usual struggle to get back into a painting mood.
April 1 – Easter – Martha home for Easter – brings two school friends “Johnny” + “Dorothy”, with her –
Catherine goes back to Cleveland with her – gets a job in a war plant as a secretary to an inspector –
Amazing to have the house painted (by Merninge’s) also [word unitelligble] fixed by Ohrt Bros. –
Remounted “Song of the Peterbird” to 40 x 56 – it grows in concept, but the seam was too forward for the right mesh of it.
Remounted “Cherry Blossom Snow” to 40 x 56 – and have been making many studies for it, it seems to be the one to do this spring –
Charles Burchfield, Journals, March 28 – April 1
[Burchfield does not notate days between April 1-18 in his quote]
