April 2 – Thursday –
A little milder – a hazy day from a “rainy” sky – which thickened towards evening, when rain commenced.
After an unsuccessful attempt to park downtown, we went out to Laube’s in Williamsville, and afterwards to Sattler’s in the Maul [sic] (Tonawanda) where we cashed in our P.C.’s from Loblaw’s on a reclining chair for my birthday – I must confess I was a little diffident about this, as I felt that Bertha had been saving these (almost 1400) for months of with the anticipation of a “cashing in” spree in a premium store. At the same time I know it gives her even greater pleasure to do something for me.
