Charles E. Burchfield (1893-1967), Spring Rain in the Woods, 1950; Watercolor on paper, 30 x 40 inches; Private Collection
A cold new day – fine for walking, tho I stayed indoors. Fine rain at times – trees made patterns against the sky – the robins sang as boldly at sunset time – The grass in turn is green, but has not the emerald look. The romance of Sat + Moon is gone so quickly.
