A rainy sky morning warm wet wind sweeping thru maple blossoms; sunlit streak low to SE – dashing rains later –
Turns to snow, a violet white in great sweeps – grey sky blue around edge of bldgs – (To think of rain dashing thru maple blossoms the sigh of the wind + great sketches of flooded swamps -)
At noon, evil ragged layer sky – windy blossom ring maples – white Northern horizon – A few places on ledges etc on houses with snow which is startlingly brilliant – Trees below sky very indistinct – Grass creates a new order of color – all “neutral things next it become vivid violet.
