Charles E. Burchfield (1893-1967), North Wind in March, 1960-66; watercolor, 47 1/2 x 59 1/2 inches; OMAA Permanent Collection, Museum of Art of Ogunquit
Colder, rain turning to snow — almost gale force winds.
Bertha was so tired and depressed I suggested we go to the Lodge for lunch.
In studio; got out the North Wind in March and studied it — it seemed awkward in composition, and in need of more sky — I plan to increase it from 42 x 57 to 48 x 60, cutting 2” off the bottom
Evening to communion service — Bad driving the roads “glassy” with ice, and in places blizzard like snow. It was exciting to be out in [it].
