Trip to N.Y. for a little work on the Guggenheim jury and for the “testimonial” dinner for Frank [Rehn].
Mon. P.M. with Moe going over unlikely prospects, discarding most of them.
Tues. evening – the dinner – first our photo taken as a group at the gallery – Dinner at Keen’s Chop House. A very enjoyable affair. A silver cigarette case (with our names & year of entry to the gallery engraved inside) present to Frank. After dinner, stories etc. – Mattson & Marguerite stars at that sort of thing.
Little to relate of trip – days at gallery looking at things, etc. – Rosella Hartman’s show – Cameron Booth – Paul Bronson –
Visit to Met. “View of Toledo” & “Harvest Scene” seem even much greater than I had remembered, which was great enough. Two imaginative landscapes by Cosimo.
Evening with Frank & Geo. Olds.
