February 21 – Friday –
Very cold (+2°) Sunny –
B + I to Buffalo, mostly just to lunch at H’s – Before, bought paste at _____ and Ulbrich’s
After we got home, when I went to remove a gallon jar of plaster out of the car, it slipped from my hands, fell on the cement floor and broke, turning into a sticky mess of paste and glass fragments.
I enlisted the aid of Bertha, who came cheerfully to my rescue, and we finally got most of it up in pans and bowls. I then spent an hour or so liquefying the paste so the glass could be removed, and put it all into another jar – Not much of the paste was lost.
Evening music – played the Walter version of the Dvorak 8th Symphony (to compare it in my mind with the new version I just bought by Kertész) – both have their superior points –
