February 17 – Monday
+8° – bright and sunny – it soon warmed up –
In studio – remounting the two 1947 parts of “Star in the Woods” – preparing mounts for the 1917 part –
At one time there was a blue jay and a red – bird at the same time at the feeder – a fine sight –
It was interesting to see how the blue-jays instead of eating the sunflower seeds on the spot, packed their throats and craw as full of the seeds as they could, then flew away with them –
As I went to lie down, after tea, I thought of the anemones growing in Bentley’s Woods, and could almost feel and smell the soft sepia colored loam in which they grew.
At long last the Haydn “Sturm and Drang” Symphonies (44 to 49) came from is Loew’s [?]
At dinner played No. 46, & at bedtime No. 47 and 49 – all beautiful, but 49 the greatest I think –
