February 14 – Sunday –
Bertha and I exchanged Valentine’s in the morning, happy and more in love than ever.
After church to Block and Cleaver for dinner –
P.M. – Called Art – He told us that Artie had fallen on a hillside and broken his left arm- (was home then, having spent the night at the hospital -)
The most unpleasant part of the accident was the indifference of the people who witnessed the accident – Artie’s playmate ran all the way to Artie’s home, he (Artie) having to lie there in the cold, unable to get up, while the people watched from their window.
Mart over in the evening.
