February 5 – Wednesday –
A clear and sunny day –
Bertha and I finished sorting all the sketches (water-colors), up to the 1960s and putting them in order in the proper bins – Had it not been for her help I think I would have bogged down in a short time –
Previous to this, with the help of Peggy and Dave, all the framed pictures (from the Albright-Knox “Early Water-Colors” show), in the house were removed to the studio, and I took out the pictures, wrapped up the frames (for storage in the shed) – a job that was finished up yesterday –
The other day in the mail (from Music Masters in New York) New Versions of Dvorak’s – Fifth Symphony – his golden Spinning Wheel, Mid-day [sic] Witch, Water-Spirit (water-goblin) – and Ballet Music arranged by Mottl of music Rameau, Gretry, + Gluck –
All beautifully played and reproduced, but in particular the Fifth Symphony played like I never heard it before
