Feb. 2 – Saturday –
Warmer (40°) dark, overcast, raining heavily at times
All day again on “Solitude” – I thought I had just about solved all of its problems, but when I set it up in the house, a number of glaring faults appeared (mainly a matter of color value & over-emphasis of certain areas) –
With charcoal and chalk, I made tentative corrections and then it seemed to function properly as a whole.
Once I chanced to look out of the studio window and saw a flock of pheasants in Alberella’s back-lot – all at once something alarmed them, and they flew towards and over the studio. The males outnumbered the females – a wonderful and very colorful sight –
