a.m. letter from Sally that all was o.k. She had an X-ray taken – everything is in fine shape + Dr. said it might be an easy birth. (It is definitely not twins, as Sally has been joking about.) Note from M.A. apology for not writing. Mild + thawing – a “spit” of soggy snow now + then –
P.M. sketch from the studio “porch” – Shortly after I started the began to wind increased and snow bringing snow with it. I protected myself by setting up a big box at the west end, and touching above it a large sheet of corrugated board. The snow became so thick and so clogged up my paint box that I had to stop – but not before I had hurriedly set down the main points, and made a fine composition of areas and angles.
Shortly before six Red called Oneida and announced the safe delivery of a boy – Andrew Douglas. He said all was o.k. – that it was a short and easy birth.
