I awoke early enough to see the sun-rise. It startled me half out of bed. Up away from the horizon was a long cloud bar, flaming salmon in color, against a blue green sky. Did I awake just for that?
The day stealthily developed towards rain: by noon the sun a glow almost shadowless; by evening, sky grey merging with the earth and a portentous wind whistling in the wierd trees; Now the rattle of rain on the panes and the roaring moan of the wind.
