The Front Yard Turns On Forever
Community Street Party celebrates the Front Yard

Join us at 5:30 pm in the Front Yard at the Burchfield Penney Art Center for a community street party celebrating the unveiling of this one-of-a-kind gallery experience. The festivities include a live musical performance by DME led by Tomás Henriques and then at sunset (approximately 6:28 pm) the trio of projection towers turns on forever. Captivating audio and image works by a dynamic array of artists will be presented throughout the night and continue beyond.
The opening of the Front Yard—the world’s first permanent, environmentally-responsive, 24/7/365, outdoor new media gallery—features a premier of Brian Milbrand’s Afterglow Arrangements (2013),Steina, Hollis Frampton, Paul Sharits, Meg Knowles and Chris Gallant, Barbara Lattanzi and continue through the month with works by John F. Bono, Dorothea Braemer,Andrew Deutsch, Courtney Grim, Carl Lee, Cort Lippe, Vince Mistretta, Jan Nagle, Rebekkah Palov, John Toth, David Tudor, Anna Scime and J.T. Rinker, whose work will play the sunrise.
