Art objects made with craft media are seductive. The textures, forms and three-dimensional qualities are enticing, attractive and inviting. These objects are more than their material; the artworks go beyond how the artist made this.
Stories connect artworks. The narrative can originate from a visitors background experience or the artists point-of-view. Either way, the story connects artwork in ways that ripen into a bigger picture. When visiting museums, visitors create these stories and at times not realizing they are linking images with words, life experience and learned information with narrative while engaging with an exhibition.
Building the Craft of Connecting is a workshop for all educators including English, foreign language and
art. Participants will build with their hands and with their writing tools.
