A sketchbook will be provided for each participant.
When did the act of following a system tell you what to try next? In this workshop, participants will learn how to develop formulas, prompts, experiments, and combinations of materials to develop sketchbooks filled with unanticipated products and rich imagery. This sketchbook workshop is inspired by the current exhibition, John Wood: The System is Alive.
No experience is necessary.
Suggested materials to bring:
Black permanent marker, Vis-à-vis wet arise marker, rubber bands, glue stick, matt gel media, watercolor paints, old magazines, wax paper, masking tape, and artist tape.
About the Instructor:
Lauren Lake is the Dean of the School of Art and Design and the Performing Arts Division at Alfred University. She is an educator and visual artist who has taught sketchbook + idea development courses for the past 25 years across the world.
