Ruth Goldman works professionally and on a volunteer basis as a filmmaker, film programmer, community activist and educator and combines all four whenever possible. She is an Assistant Professor of Communication at SUNY-Buffalo State where she teaches media production and critical cultural studies. Ruth's scholarly and artistic interests include humanitarian storytelling, media and diversity, documentary film and community media. She is the former director of Squeaky Wheel’s Youth Media Institute and also a former board member. Her Ph.D. dissertation, “Channeling Community,” is a case study of Squeaky Wheel.
